Monolith is delivering the full interior fit-out of the Sports Hotel on Hudayriat Island for Modon, one of Abu Dhabi's leading real estate developers — a landmark hospitality project that brings together the energy of sport and the comfort of premium hotel design in a space built for performance, connection, and experience.

Idea
The design vision for the Sports Hotel centres on a bold, energetic identity that speaks directly to its active, sports-focused audience. The all-day dining area — the heart of the hotel's social life — was conceived as a high-ceilinged, light-filled space where floor-to-ceiling glazing, illuminated green feature columns, sports broadcast screens, and an open kitchen bar create an atmosphere that is simultaneously vibrant and welcoming. The space is designed to serve equally well as a morning fuel station for athletes and an evening social hub for guests.
Conceptualization and Planning
Design Process
The spatial strategy for the all-day dining area prioritised flexibility and flow — a layout that accommodates high-volume breakfast service, casual all-day dining, and evening social gatherings without feeling crowded or static. The double-height volume was maximised through a dramatic lighting design featuring a sculptural white pendant installation, integrated track lighting, and the signature backlit green columns that serve as the visual anchor of the space. A large-format sports media wall and open bar counter were positioned to create natural focal points and encourage guest engagement.
Implementation and Styling
Design Process
Monolith is executing the complete fit-out scope across the hotel, including all joinery, ceiling works, feature lighting installations, flooring, wall finishes, and furniture installation. The material palette of warm concrete, brushed metal, natural wood, and bold green accents was selected to reinforce the hotel's sporting identity while maintaining the comfort and quality expected of a premium hospitality environment. As an ongoing project, Monolith continues to work in close collaboration with Modon to deliver this landmark development to the highest standard.
