Monolith delivered the complete fit-out of the Shams Boutik washrooms in Abu Dhabi, demonstrating that exceptional design has no boundaries — transforming a purely functional space into a refined, beautifully crafted environment that reflects the same level of care and quality as any other area of the development.
The design concept for the Shams Boutik washrooms was rooted in the belief that a premium retail destination deserves premium facilities at every touchpoint. Monolith responded with a design language built on warmth, pattern, and precision — backlit laser-cut arabesque partition panels that glow in rich amber gold, seamless white Corian vanity counters with integrated sinks, and full-length back-lit mirror walls with etched graphic detailing. The result is a washroom that surprises and delights, leaving a lasting impression on every visitor.
The spatial layout was carefully planned to maximise efficiency within the available footprint while creating a sense of spaciousness and luxury. The backlit arabesque panels — the signature element of the design — were positioned as full-height dividers between the vanity and cubicle zones, serving both a functional and aesthetic purpose. The warm amber backlighting was calibrated to create a flattering, welcoming glow throughout the space, while the etched mirror graphics — featuring playful hygiene-themed iconography — add a touch of wit and personality to the design.
Monolith executed the full fit-out scope, including the custom laser-cut arabesque panels with integrated LED backlighting, all Corian vanity and countertop works, mirror installation with etched graphic detailing, wall and floor tiling, plumbing fixtures, and all ceiling and lighting works. The arabesque panels were custom-manufactured at Monolith's in-house joinery factory to exacting tolerances, ensuring the precision of the cut pattern and the consistency of the backlit effect across every panel. The result is a washroom fit-out that sets a new benchmark for what a retail facility can and should be.
